Advocate Verification: Bar Council enrollment number, Certificate of Practice, Bar Council ID, and Government ID proof. These documents are stored securely and used solely for identity verification.

Consultation Data: Quick Ask queries and responses, chat transcripts, and session metadata (duration, timestamps). This data is stored for service delivery and dispute resolution.

Payment Data: Transaction IDs, amounts, and consultation references. We do not store credit card or bank account details directly — these are handled by our payment processor.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.

• To verify advocate credentials and maintain platform trust.

• To facilitate consultations between clients and advocates.

• To process payments and refunds.

• To resolve disputes between parties.

• To send service-related notifications (consultation updates, payment confirmations).

• To improve our platform and user experience.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share information only in these cases:

Between consultation parties: Your name and query details are shared with the advocate you consult.

Payment processing: Transaction data is shared with our payment processor (Razorpay).

Legal compliance: If required by Indian law, court order, or government authority.

Dispute resolution: Consultation transcripts may be reviewed by NyaySetu administrators.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission. Verification documents are stored in encrypted cloud storage. Database access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your account credentials private.

5. Data Retention

Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account deletion request.

Consultation transcripts: Retained for 2 years for dispute resolution purposes.

Verification documents: Retained while the advocate's account is active.

Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data stored on our platform.

• Request correction of inaccurate information.

• Request deletion of your account and associated data.

• Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT tokens stored in localStorage). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. No advertising cookies are used on our platform.
